I made the easiest tray the other day. It was made completely from our scrap wood pile, so there was no cost for me to make this. Let me tell you what I did!
-We had some natural 1×2 scrap pieces of wood, and I cut them into 4 pieces. Two were 13″ in length, and two were 15″ in length. (You can customize this to whatever size you are wanting!)
-I took a piece of MDF board that we used in my daughter’s closet remodel. I had already painted this white. I cut this to be about 17″ in length.

-I used wood glue and glued the 15″ pieces along the long side of the MDF board. Then, I used the wood glue to glue the 13″ pieces along the edges of the MDF board. The 13″ pieces went on the outside of the 15″ pieces to form an “L”.

-I allowed these to dry completely.

-VOILA! Now, I have a cute tray to use somewhere. This could also work as a sign, if you have a vinyl cutting machine. Oh, the possibilities!
