Could you use a shelf somewhere, but don’t really want to spend money on one? You can make a SUPER easy shelf yourself. If you have scrap wood on hand, it will be virtually free!

Stephen recently made one for our cabin. We really needed one in a small bathroom, just to put toothbrushes and little things on. He took a 1×6 piece of wood and cut it to about 12” in length. He cut two small pieces of 2×2 wood to about 2.5” sections to use for cleats.

He screwed the cleats into the wall. He then screwed the 1×6 wood down into the cleats. I painted it and… voila! You have yourself a shelf.
