In the cabin, we have a couch that has seen many decades. 😉 It used to be pink and velvety, but my mom had it recovered awhile back.

Instead of recovering it again to refresh the couch, I decided to try using a slipcover! This would allow the couch to be updated/refreshed and then we could throw it in the washing machine to keep it clean.
I purchased this slipcover from Amazon, size large and color of khaki. Since our couch had the hump on the back side (a more vintage style), I wasn’t sure if that would affect how the slipcover would fit.
Excuse the mess, but I was multi-tasking and painting the floor at the same time. This was when I put the slipcover over the couch to check its fit! I eventually fit it over the feet of the couch, but didn’t want to until the floor was dry.

The slipcover came with these foam pieces, and without reading the instructions, I thought they were packing material- so, in the trash they went!
Luckily, they weren’t too far down in the trash, because I needed those bad boys!! They are used to push down into the cracks of the couch to keep the slipcover in place.

Check it out now! It doesn’t fit perfectly, with our couch being shaped differently from most. However, we will put pillows on each side to cover the stretched parts that you can see. Overall, I think it will work great!
