Recently, we painted the outside of our house. It was needed. We had the builder-grade paint that was definitely thinner than more quality paint, so up-close you could see we needed to paint. I’m the kind of person that, if I’m going to spend thousands of dollars to paint my house, I want to see a difference. Anyone else?? I am also the kind of person that doesn’t want to do anything too extreme, so if we decide to sell it, it would be a more neutral color.

I looked…and looked… and looked. Our brick leans a bit towards the gray shade, so I had trouble finding a good color that I thought would look good. I even uploaded pics of my house along with certain paint colors to Chat GPT to get ideas- it was very helpful!

Long story short, I ended up not changing the color much. Instead of a light gray that leans to the gray side, I went with a light gray that went to the greige side. I know… I am WILD, right??

We chose Anew Gray by Sherwin Williams. It is a beautiful light greige. We also painted the shutters and door (SW Iron Ore) and the trim (SW Alabaster).

Here was our house before…

Here it is now!

Iron Ore is one of the popular black colors that people use on their houses. I like it, but it does have a blue/sometimes purple look to it at certain times of the day. I don’t think I’d want any more of my house in that color, just because of how it looks in the afternoon. But, overall, I really like the look of the paint combination!

Here’s a fun before and after:
