As an Amazon employee, I earn commission from purchases.

OK, y’all. I’m determined this year to have a productive garden! Last year, my jalapeno plants thrived (though I didn’t need that many of those) and my green pepper plants were mediocre. That was all that survived from all the seedlings I started in the house last year.

This year, I started more peat pots in the house, but I transferred them outside a little too early. The plants were outgrowing the peat pots, so I purchased plastic containers and garden soil, and put them outside… but, Georgia weather gets confused often. It will be 30 degrees in the morning and 75 degrees in the afternoon. A couple of 30 degree mornings hurt many of the plants, so I learned my lesson for next year!

The plastic pots I purchased for the transfer

Many did survive, though, so I transferred them to my raised garden beds. I wanted to share some things I used to hopefully help these plants thrive!

I purchased this tin raised garden bed from Amazon. It took about 45 minutes for me to put together, and it’s very solid.

I also purchased this fabric raised garden from Amazon as well. This one is not solid, and I’d recommend the tin one over it… though it’s about half the price of the tin one (unless you can find it on sale!). It’s not stiff and, as you can see, I have to use bricks to keep the walls from falling over.

The plants you can see already were ones I started in the pea pods. I purchased some plant stakes with ties to help support the plants. I planted other seeds directly in the soil to see if I have any luck with them!

I planted the following:

-Cilantro
-Big Daddy Hybrid Tomatoes
-Garden Beans
-Brussels Sprouts
-Summer Squash (Zucchini)
-Sweet Pepper
-Jalapenos
-Basil
-Parsley
-Oregano
-Rosemary

I will keep you updated. Fingers crossed!
