My daughter wanted a new dresser in her room, as the one she had was my husband’s childhood dresser. Let’s just say it’s been around for awhile! 😉 Stephen and I looked up dresser deals and couldn’t find a decent one under $600. Stephen decided to look up plans online to see if he could build one, and he found this Ana White plan. He estimated he could build it for about $300.

He was able to customize this plan to fit my daughter’s space and the number of drawers she wanted. He used this plan as a guideline but did the measurements based on her space.

Here is the shopping list, from Ana White’s plans. *Note that yours might be a little different if you plan to customize the dresser*

Stephen also invested in this Rip-cut Circular Saw from Amazon. He said he wishes he had gotten this sooner, as it made cutting big pieces of plywood SO much easier!

It took him several days, but he got the dresser done! It is amazing and very sturdy, being made of real wood (versus laminate). Here are some pictures along the way:
