My sister’s house had a pathway on the side of it that went down the hall, and it was pretty simple. There were thick pieces of wood every few feet, and the dirt under it was tilled so that no grass grew there. This is what it looked like (minus the rocks on the side… those were just added):

They decided to give the pathway a little facelift! They continued adding rocks on the side for a border. They bought some decorative pebbles and filled in all of the spots between the wood. Check it out now!

This was super easy and very inexpensive, but it made such a big difference!
