We recently changed out the three pendant lights over our kitchen island. The ones we had were glass… they were very big and, even though they were see-through, they blocked the sight between the kitchen and living room. They were also a big pain to have to clean! Windex never seemed to get them perfectly streak-free.

What we wanted was something smaller and darker, to tie in our darker floor. We headed to Amazon, where there were many to choose from. We decided to go with these pendants. They were a great deal and the look was exactly what we wanted. They came in two days and my husband installed them himself! (With a little help from our 13 year-old)

The pendant kit included several pole options, so you can make these pendants longer or shorter (depending on that you want).

They hang a little higher than the glass ones, they are smaller overall, and they are more “see-through”, which is helpful when communicating between the kitchen and the living room. For us, no electrician was needed (though we did turn off the circuit breaker for this room beforehand). It was a simple upgrade that made a big difference for us!
