My brother and I have talked for a year now about ideas for this middle bedroom, and we got a lot of work done in it recently. It still isn’t done, but I wanted to share what we’ve done so far!

This past weekend was the demolition part of our renovation. Below, you will see how the room was originally. There was a closet, shelves, and a sink (that hasn’t worked since I was a kid!). We had talked about tearing these three things down, because it would add a good amount of space to this somewhat-small room.

My daughter helped me tear out the shelves and the sink. It was kind of a fun way to get out any frustrations we might have! ha!

I worked really hard on trying to tear the closet down, but man… things were built TOUGH back in the 40s and 50s! 😉 I couldn’t make it budge. Here’s a silly photo to prove that I tried…

Thankfully, my brother and his muscles were able to get the closet down. Check it out now!

We wanted to lighten this room up, so I started to paint the walls. I primed it with the mildew primer and then painted over it with Comfort Gray.

I’m hoping to finish this room up really soon. The plan is to finish painting the walls, paint the trim white, paint the floor, and set up a new double bed (in addition to the twin bed that was already there). Check back for an update soon!
