The full bathroom at my sister’s house recently had a leak that caused major water damage, so she had to file an insurance claim to fix it. Her 1950’s bathroom had been redone back in the late 1990’s, and there were a lot of brown shades and dark paint colors used. The bathroom itself felt small and tight because of the dark shades, plus the large jacuzzi-style tub that took up extra space.

Here are some before pictures:

Her goal was to make things lighter, so all of the tile shades (shower and floor) that she picked out were shades of white and gray. She also wanted a green/gray color of paint for the cabinets.

Check out the progress:

My sister decided to get a standard-sized tub this time. Since the original tub had been extra large, it left a gap of space between the end of the new tub and the wall. She decided to have a bench built in that space!

The tiling began… first, with the shower.

Then, the bench and nook were tiled…

So pretty!

Next up… the tile floor!

The original cabinets were removed for the remodel, but were painted and reinstalled. My sister wanted a green/gray shade, and she settled on Benjamin Moore’s Rainy Afternoon 1575. I love it!

She decided to do vertical shiplap up most of the wall. That, along with the top of the wall, were painted in Benjamin Moore’s Dove White.

They used the original white counter top.

The only things left to do are to add on gold drawer pulls, and hang up a white shower curtain. I can’t believe it… it is beautiful and looks like a completely different bathroom from before!!
